Young eagles Volunteers needed for Oct 30th

We are hosting about 30 girl scouts for young eagles flights Oct 30th. Pilots and non-pilot volunteers are needed. Please contact George ASAP if you can help.

LINE UP AND WAIT PHRASEOLOGY CHANGE

• Beginning on September 30, 2010, the words “Position and Hold” will no longer be used to instruct a pilot to enter the runway and await takeoff clearance. Under the new “Line Up and Wait” phraseology, the controller will:
  • State the call-sign.
  • State the departure runway.
  • State “Line Up and Wait”.

Also:

• Beginning June 30, 2010, controllers will be required to issue explicit instructions to cross or hold short of each runway that intersects a taxi route.
• “Taxi to” will no longer be used when issuing taxi instructions to an assigned take-off runway.
